Civil Litigation Practice:
Attorney Zito represents plaintiffs in civil and commercial litigation cases in Connecticut and in courts across the country from personal injury claims to copyright infringement cases, as well as before state agencies. She routinely handles auto accident cases, slip and falls, and contract cases. Given her proclivity to take on corporations, banks, insurance companies, and the Government, she often refers to her practice as “David and Goliath law”. For example, she has successfully represented individuals in non-compete agreement disputes, in lender liability cases where individuals and small businesses have been wronged by banks, and in copyright and patent claims where marketing companies have had their products stolen by large corporations. In McCoy v. Belmont, et al, featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes, she succeeded in holding the State of Connecticut in contempt of a Consent Decree in Federal court for its treatment of two severely handicapped brothers at Southbury Training School. She has successfully settled cases for 7 figures against large firms.
